Amanda N. Steinberg
Director
Amanda Steinberg has been at Piney Grove Middle School since 2007. While there, she has taught Chorus, Music Appreciation, Video Production, and Theatre. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Choral Music Education from Indiana State University.
As Choral Director, Mrs. Steinberg’s groups consistently receive “Excellent” and “Superior” ratings at the Georgia Music Educators Association Large Group Performance Evaluation. Under her direction, her choirs have also been named “Grand Champion” at the Georgia Vocal Invitational in Augusta, Georgia and the Southern Star Music Festival in Atlanta, Georgia. Most recently, the PGMS Festival Chorus received “Best in Class,” “Best Soloist,” and 1st Place in their division at the 2020 Festival Disney Choral Competition in Orlando, Florida. She has also had numerous students participate in the Forsyth County Honor Chorus, GMEA District 9 Honor Chorus, GMEA 6th Grade Statewide Honor Chorus, and GMEA All State Chorus. Under her direction, the 2020 PGMS Festival Chorus won 1st Place, Best in Class, and Best Soloist at the 2020 Festival Disney Choral Competition in Orlando, Florida.
As Theatre Director, Mrs. Steinberg has continued to grow the PGMS Theatre Program to one that has over 200 students currently involved in theatre classes and extracurricular theatrical productions. She has also started and grown the Piney Grove Junior Thespian Troupe, a national theatre honor society that recognizes and rewards students’ achievements.
Previous Piney Grove Performing Arts productions include Annie, Alice in Wonderland, Guys and Dolls, Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, High School Musical, The Music Man, Peter Pan, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, A Christmas Carol, Shuddersome: Tales of Poe, Legally Blonde, The Lion King, Shrek the Musical, Hairspray, James and the Giant Peach, Footloose, Elf, Madagascar. Matilda, Newsies, and Bye Bye Birdie.
Mrs. Steinberg currently resides in Alpharetta, GA with her husband and two children.
